"Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good."
I love this verse because it puts the glory where it belongs- in God's hands. His goodness. His love.
When we come to know God, we are forgiven of our sins. The shames of our pasts no longer carry any claim over us.
Even after we have grown in our knowing of God, we will still mess up. Years will go by, and even as our faith grows, we will make mistakes. We will rebel. There will be times when we will fall into temptation and we will give in to our own desires, ignoring the protective laws of our King. We are not perfect people, that's why we have a perfect Savior.
I love that this psalm asks God not to think of us in regard to our mistakes, but instead for Him to think upon us in regards to His Great Love.
I love this because there is nothing we can do to earn His forgiveness. Because He is so good, He thinks upon us through the lens of His goodness and Love. Because He is good, we can dwell in the truth that we are covered by His love.
